We provide LGBTQ+ Diversity & Inclusion Training
Welcome to Pride Outside
We are Ellis and Lou Beardsmore, the founders of the award winning social enterprise Pride Outside CIC.
We are civil partners as well as business partners, with over 40 years of training experience between us. Our work is mainly with organisations in Scotland, but we also work internationally and love working with ambitious organisations who are as passionate about LGBTQ+ inclusion as we are!
Pride Outside provide specialist LGBTQ+ workplace training and consultancy to public, private and third sector organisations.
At Pride Outside, are are on a mission to create a world where LGBTQ+ people are safe and well. Our Learning Programmes increase LGBTQ+ awareness and our Wellbeing programmes improve LGBTQ+ mental health.
Why is LGBTQ+ Awareness needed?
Although LGBTQ+ people have more rights now than we did before, things have started to get worse. Despite this positive progress, LGBTQ+ hate crime has actually risen in the last 2 years. This is has resulted in an LGBTQ+ mental health crisis, which has impacted families, communities and workplaces.
Pride Outside CIC was founded in order to change this story. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe and well an are passionate about supporting organisations to be more LGBTQ+ inclusive.
Our LGBTQ+ Diversity Training
There are so many changes in LGBTQ+ language and policies, it can be confusing and hard to keep up to date.
We support organisations to learn about inclusive language and best practice around pronouns. We help people deepen their understanding and feel more confident about being LGBTQ+ inclusive. In addition to this, we also provide specialist consultancy and coaching as part of our training solution.
Our LGBTQ+ diversity training ranges from a 1 hr learning lunch to a full day’s accredited training. We know flexibiliy and accessibility is important, so we offer our training sessions in person, online and through e-learning.
All of our training is trauma informed and centres lived LGBTQ+ experiences. We are passionate about equity and are committed to our own continued learning in intersectionality and equalities.
Our LGBTQ+ Wellbeing Events
Our profits from our LGBTQ+ Learning programmes fund our LGBTQ+ wellbeing events making them free and accessible to all. There is a yearly programme of monthly wellbeing events in Glasgow and online. All our events are led by LGBTQ+ facilitators and volunteers and are trauma informed and neurodiverse friendly. We can also fund travel and provide free food and drink at all our events.
